Nightjars
Blue House, Dorset, UK
Description
Tucked away amongst the trees in the Dorset countryside, with the sea a mere mile or so away, Nightjars is built into the hillside, with the coast in the distance. This part of the countryside is all rolling hillside, and patchwork field, before giving away to sandy coast. From the deck, and the garden below, your morning coffee will be paired with the smell of pine tree, and fresh sea air.
Your space is, well, very spacious. Designed by an award-winning architect, the cabin’s designed to be not just a place to stay, but relax. Light filled rooms, room to stretch out, and best of all, a sauna, outdoor hot and cold shower, and an outdoor cold plunge bath. Though you are close to the owner’s house, if you’re in search of a spot to hide away amongst the trees and recharge, you can do no better.
Like all things of great design, this place has multiple uses. There are great places to walk from the doorstep, both coastal and inland. There’s Hardown Hill, the Marshwood vale and the hill forts of Lewesdon Wood, the highest point in Dorset, as well as the coast being a 45-minute walk via Langdon Wood and Golden Cap, the highest sea cliff on the south coast. Your only disappointment will be not being able to retire here.
